Upcoming Classes

Two New Workshops Added For November! 

On-Line Training in partnership with COC: Virtual Sessions-Zoom

  • Workshop 1: "Improve Inventory Accuracy through Cycle Counting" 

  • Workshop 2: "How to Conduct a Successful Physical Inventory" 


Dates and Times:

Each workshop is 4 hours in length and runs from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. 

Cycle Counting will be on Tuesday, Nov. 17th, 2020 led by: APICS recognized Master Instructor Jose Feliciano, CPIM CSCP  APICS Master Instructor

Physical Inventory will be on Thursday, Nov. 19th, 2020 led by APICS recognized Instructor Ellen Kane, CPIM

APICS SFV's new vocational education series (Essential Skills) are short (6-9 week) courses are designed to provide specific training to Manufacturing, Service, and Distribution employees with the essential skills and knowledge needed to survive in today's competitive job market. Courses are designed specifically for Stockroom & Inventory Control personnel, Warehouse & Distribution employees, Production Control employees, and Purchasing employees.

We expect that our students will take the course that relates to their current job or their desired job and then proceed to the capstone course "Essentials of Supply Chain and Operations Management" to broaden their view of their environment. These courses provide students with a strong foundation to move towards APICS Certification.

These classes are offered in partnership with our local colleges and we are pleased to announce that these courses will soon be available on I-TRAIN for those who are currently unemployed or looking to enhance their current skills or change careers towards Supply Chain related occupations. Classes are starting at both COC and PDC. All classes are virtual. Sign up now!

In partnership with the Professional Development Center of Glendale Community College: 

CPIM Part 1

This course is part 1 of a 2-part series intended for Operations and Supply Chain professionals who want to improve their knowledge and skills in Operations and Supply Chain Management, gain practical knowledge and skills that can be used immediately in their job and master the APICS Body of Knowledge terminology and concepts with the intent to pursue certification. There are no pre-requisites for this course. 

The basic concepts in managing the complete flow of materials in a supply chain from suppliers to customers are covered in Part 1. This module covers the manufacturing, distribution, service, and retail industries. This includes the fundamental relationships in the design, planning, execution, monitoring, and control.

·        Mondays & Wednesdays, beginning January 25th, 2021, to April 14, 2021, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm each night - led by APICS recognized instructors. Click here for more information.

CPIM Part 2

This course is part 2 of a 2-part series intended for Operations and Supply Chain professionals who want to improve their knowledge and skills in Operations and Supply Chain Management, gain practical knowledge and skills that can be used immediately in their job and master the APICS Body of Knowledge terminology and concepts with the intent to pursue certification. Pre-requisites for this course are either completion of CPIM Part 1 or equivalent experience. 

Part 2 consists of a combination of 4 modules, including:  - Master Planning of Resources - Detailed Scheduling and Planning - Execution and Control of Operations - Strategic Management of Resources.

Tuesday, beginning January 19th, 2021, to May 4, 2021, 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm each night - led by APICS recognized instructors. Click here for more information.
